Event Update: Regrettably, due to adverse weather conditions forecast for Saturday March 7 by the Bureau of Meteorology – strong likelihood of hail and thunder, Music at Dusk event has been cancelled. This wasn’t an easy decision, but we believe it’s the safest option for our audience, the choirs, and everyone involved.

The Australian Parliament House Enlighten Illumination Democracy! will be on display from 8:00 pm – 11:00 pm until Monday March 9, 2026.

Begin your Enlighten adventure at Australian Parliament House, where the melodies of Canberra’s choirs will fill the air.
Bring a picnic and a blanket and immerse yourself in the music as the sun sets, before the spectacular illumination inspired by Philip Bunting’s book, Democracy! begins at 8:00 pm.
Suitable for the whole family. Please note no food or beverage will be for sale at the venue. This event is subject to change at short notice.
During Enlighten you can park for free in our underground carpark from 5:00 pm to midnight, subject to availability.
