Meet Amorphia, a shimmering trio of otherworldly organisms are on the loose exploring the sights and sounds of Enlighten. Gentle and curious, keep an eye out for these larger-than-life puppets.

Glowing with colour, movement and light, Amorpha turns waste into wonder with every kinetic ripple of their towering forms. With no arms to hug or eyes to see, the Amorphia puppets are led by their senses and giggle when you greet them.

Inspired by single-celled organisms and the question, what if the carbon-based synthetic polymers of soft plastics became sentient? The Amorphia puppets are imagined plastic-based lifeforms, created in response to the suspension of soft plastics recycling in 2022.

Crafted from hundreds of recycled and reclaimed soft plastics, fabric waste, and other recycled materials collected by TIO artists and community members over two years.

Performed by and presented in collaboration with Warehouse Circus, Canberra’s home of youth and community circus. With thanks to Inspiring Australia ACT, science engagement for the Canberra community.
