Enlighten Festival Terms & Conditions

Patrons are not permitted to bring the following items onto the Enlighten Festival site:

  • flares, fireworks, knives, weapons or any device that has the potential to cause injury or public nuisance;
  • alcohol;
  • drones;
  • any prohibited substance;
  • bicycles, tricycles (including hand propelled tricycles), roller blades, roller skates, skateboards, foot propelled and motorised scooters or segways.
  • Glass

The bar service areas are restricted to over 18’s only.

For the comfort, safety and enjoyment of patrons, Management reserves the right to:

  • refuse entry at their discretion;
  • refuse entry to, or evict any person deemed to be intoxicated or affected by a prohibited substance;
  • refuse entry to, or evict any unauthorised person; and
  • refuse entry to any person who attempts to bring any restricted or prohibited item onto the Enlighten festival site
  • Entry to Enlighten is free, but patrons may incur a charge for some activities and purchases within the Enlighten site.
  • Amend these Terms and Conditions at any time

By entering the Enlighten Festival Event Site or Event Installation locations, you agree to:

  • Management reserves the right to inspect bags brought into or out of the Enlighten site.
  • Patrons bringing personal items to Enlighten do so at their own risk. Events ACT will not be held responsible for any damage to, loss or theft of personal property, whether brought into the Enlighten site or deposited at storage facilities outside.
  • Patrons are admitted at their own risk. Events ACT will not be held responsible for the death or injury of any patron during their attendance at Enlighten.
  • Patrons agree to indemnify Events ACT against liability in respect of all claims, costs and expenses and for all loss, damage, injury or death to persons or property caused by the patron in connection with their attendance at Enlighten, except to the extent that Events ACT caused the relevant loss, damage or injury.
  • The Enlighten site must not be used for any political or other demonstration.
  • Signs and banners are not permitted inside Enlighten and must not be displayed on any fence surrounding the Enlighten site.
  • Unless approved by Management, the sale of goods or services, or the conduct of charitable collections, raffles and fundraisers is not permitted.
  • Unless approved by Management, the distribution of brochures, flyers, pamphlets or vouchers of any kind is not permitted.
  • Unless approved by the Management, buskers or other performers are not permitted to perform at Enlighten.
  • Patrons must obey all signs, notices and directions given by Management.
  • Patrons entering Enlighten may be photographed, filmed and/or taped and it is deemed that a person, by entering Enlighten, consents to the ACT Government or third parties appointed by the ACT Government photographing, filming or taping. The ACT Government or third parties appointed by the ACT Government can broadcast, publish, licence and use any photographs, film, recordings or images without compensation. The ACT Government, third parties and anyone acquiring from them a right to use the material are not liable to the subject for its use in any way.

The ACT Government has a photographer and videographer onsite during the event taking photographs and video of performances, activities, workshops, exhibits and the crowd including small groups and individuals.

By entering the event site, you consent to being included in any photography and video taken at this event, and used, without permission or compensation by the ACT Government.

For close up shots of children under 12 years, verbal consent will be requested from a parent.

Images and footage may be used in communications and promotional material, such as newsletters, websites, social media, videos and other materials, including use by ACT Government portfolio ministers.

If you DO NOT wish to be photographed or filmed, please notify a member of staff.

Symphony in the Park Terms & Conditions of Entry

These Terms and Conditions of Entry apply to all patrons attending Symphony in the Park, delivered by Events ACT at Commonwealth Park. 

By registering for a free ticket, obtaining a ticket, or entering the event site, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. 

Symphony in the Park is an all-ages event, however patrons under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. 

Entry to Symphony in the Park is free, however registration via Humanitix is required. 

  • All patrons must present a valid Humanitix ticket on entry. 
  • Tickets are single-use and valid only for the event date and time indicated.  
  • Bag checks may be conducted at entry. 

Management reserves the right to: 

    • refuse entry at their discretion; 
    • refuse entry to, or evict any person deemed to be intoxicated or affected by a prohibited substance;  
    • refuse entry to, or evict any unauthorised person; and 
    • refuse entry to any person who attempts to bring any restricted or prohibited item onto the event site.
