Heaven’s Gate, by internationally acclaimed video artist Marco Brambilla, is now showing as a free audiovisual installation at the National Film and Sound Archive in Acton.
This extraordinary work engulfs visitors in a dazzling cascade of collaged film imagery. It features glimpses of stars such as Beyoncé, Audrey Hepburn, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Christopher Walken. Brambilla’s immersive dreamscape blurs the line between celebration and critique, creating a cinematic experience unlike any other.
Recognised worldwide as a leading figure in contemporary video art, Brambilla is celebrated for his pioneering use of digital imaging and large installations. Heaven’s Gate brings Brambilla’s visionary approach exclusively to Canberra, offering audiences a rare opportunity to experience his work in person.
