Meliora, the Latin noun meaning ‘better things’ or for the pursuit of the better.

Meliora is a temporary public art-chitecture. It exists as a space of reflection, immersion and joy for its audience. It is an abstract representation of how the global community has the power to come together to cooperate in times of need and is making its world premiere at Enlighten 2025.

The world is at the precipice of change. This change can be felt from all directions, from climatic influences, political feuds, economic fluctuations and social pressures.

As a global community of humans, we throw ourselves into this convergence of change with a feeling of resilience, determination and hope.

Art plays an important role in enriching the everyday life. Amongst so much seemly chaos, it is important now, more than ever to find joy in the everyday, to find moments of wonder that excite our inherent curiosity.

The form is defined by interwoven curves, connecting and converging in the centre of the form, creating a vaulted moment of negative space for the audience to traverse through and under.

The intertwined curves create vast apertures of negative space. These windows represent metaphorical windows into alternative perspectives, representing and encouraging empathy and care towards our fellow humans.

Meliora is illuminated by a dynamic internal light scape that is choreographed to an accompanying bespoke soundscape, creating a unique and enchanting experience for the audience.

Accessible from 5pm but be sure to visit after dark for the full experience.

About The Artist

Atelier Sisu is an award winning, Sydney -based art practice lead by Peruvian Sculptor and industrial designer, Renzo B. Larriviere and architectural designer and artist, Zara Pasfield.
Atelier Sisu endeavours to push the democratisation of art and architecture, bringing art out of the gallery and into the everyday public realm; bridging the gap between cultural institutions and the urban fabric of a built environment.

The pair work with a multi-disciplinary team to create large-scale, temporary architectures, experiential environments, installations and unique sculptural pieces. Their direction of work sits between the fields of art and architecture (art-chitecture), with particular focus in the realm of public art.
