Fields of Love: Enlighten at the NGA

1 March

Come and immerse yourself in a free after-hours event at the NGA. The highlight of the event will be a powerful animated illumination by contemporary Australian artist Tony Albert of the Girramay/Yidinji/Kuku Yalanji peoples.  The stunning work I AM VISIBLE will be projected onto the façade of the NGA and will showcase the importance of the visibility of Aboriginal people and their voices.

Electric Fields (SA) will also light up our outdoor stage with their special brand of compelling new music.  It brings together the brilliance and creativity of music producer and composer Michael Ross, with the mesmerising sensitivity of Zaachariaha Fielding, whose rare and beautiful voice has been described as ‘taking soul to the stratosphere’.   In this year of Indigenous languages, their performance will include lyrics by Zaachariaha’s in his language of the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara people.

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander galleries will be open for artists talks and art making activities.
