Over eleven nights, water and bodies will flow across the National Gallery’s facade in a monumental video projection by Club Ate. For the 2020 iteration of the Gallery’s annual Enlighten Illuminations commission, Club Ate have created a video projection that tells stories of resistance, transformation and queer futures.
The projection will be accompanied by a performance event on Saturday 7 March 2020. A one-night-only event at the Gallery, Club Muva will be an inclusive and intimate celebration of community and connections, through movement, sound and storytelling.
Led by Bhenji Ra and Justin Shoulder, Club Muva will feature Club Ate artists as well as Asia–Pacific artists from Sydney and Canberra. Responding to Club Ate’s projected images, landscapes and narrative, this outdoor performance will be an immersive experience between the artists and local community, exploring the transformative power of live performance and the visual arts.
