Enlighten Festival 2023 will light up Canberra with culture and creativity over 17 days from 3-19 March. Now in its 13th year, 2023 will see the Enlighten Festival take over the city with a program packed with diverse and exciting events and entertainment.
In addition to the festival’s popular programming, the second weekend of the festival (10-12 March) will celebrate LGBTIQA+ pride with Pride Weekend @ Enlighten Festival. All events celebrating pride are free to attend.
See some of the capital’s most loved and iconic buildings become canvases for specially designed pride themed projections with stunning displays of light, sound and movement as part of Illuminations @ Enlighten Festival. Enjoy live music as you feast on tasty treats from local food and beverage vendors.
Located in the open-air surrounds of the Senate Rose Garden, Lights! Canberra! Action! @ Enlighten Festival shines a spotlight on local filmmaking talent. With 10 days to film and feature 10 specific items from around Canberra, watch up-and-coming local filmmakers share their perspective and interpretation of the theme, Pride.
Marvel at hot air balloons sporting LGTBIQA+ flags float across the city on the first morning of the Canberra Balloon Spectacular @ Enlighten Festival. Bask in the beautiful scenery with stunning viewpoints across Canberra or fly on a balloon yourself and take in the views!
FreshOut Fair Day Canberra @ Enlighten Festival is ACT’s largest LGBTIQA+ community pride event. Set in glorious Glebe Park, the festival will feature great entertainment from some of Australia’s finest performing artists. Browse market stalls and taste a selection of local food and wines.
Hear an epic musical collaboration when Electric Fields join the Canberra Symphony Orchestra at Symphony in the Park @ Enlighten Festival. Bring a picnic and enjoy a night of great tunes.
