Think the Canberra Night Noodle Markets (28 February – 9 March 2020) is just about the noodles? Think again.
Feed your appetite for delicious Asian eats and then explore the Enlighten Illuminations precinct. Don’t leave without getting a taste of each of the following delights.
KFC Puffle – Poklol x Puffle
I think we’ve died and gone to puffle heaven – sweet and spicy Korean fried chicken stuffed inside a cheese puffle, topped with kewpie mayo and shallots.
Vegan Peking Duck Pancake – The Pham Sisters
If you like living on the veg, the Pham Sisters have got your covered with their crispy pancake stuffed with vegan roast duck and veggies, topped with homemade BBQ sauce.
Original Glaze Donut – Demochi Donut
Get your sweet eats fix with a Demochi Donut. New to the Canberra Night Noodle markets, these delicious creations are light and crispy on the outside, and soft and pillowy on the inside.
Way of the Dragon – Flying Noodles
We couldn’t do a must-eat list of the Canberra Night Noodle Markets without mentioning, well, noodles. Flying Noodles will fulfil your noodle dreams with their Way of the Dragon – slow cooked pork belly, honey, black sesame and soy.
Dancing Dragon – Waffleland
The sweet cousin of the infamous chip on a stick, waffle on a stick loads your doughy delight with a range of toppings from the familiar (warm Nutella) to the unusual (lychee and caramel syrup) and the straight-up extravagant (peanut butter, ice cream, fresh bananas, pretzels, wafer sticks and topped with caramel – yes, we’re serious). If you’re concerned about how one stick could possibly have enough structural integrity to harness all these delicious flavours at once, we’re happy to report your tasty treat comes nestled in a cardboard container, hopefully preventing more than a few tears when it comes to dessert time.
The Canberra Night Noodle Markets will be running throughout Enlighten Festival from 28 February – 9 March as part of Good Food Month. As a bonus, there’s no need to worry about loose change as all stalls are EFTPOS only.
