Get groovy at the National Library

twist and shout to 60s tunes
2-10 March

The Library will explode in a far-out festival of sound, colour and activity to celebrate 50 swingin’ years since the building opened in 1968.

Bring the family on Friday nights for 60s music and dance. Twist and shout at the kids disco, and get creative at one of the art and craft stations.

Swing by on Saturday nights for an outta-sight party, with the best of local musical talent performing some of your favourite 60s tunes. Dance the night away with Brass Knuckle Brass Band, Moaning Lisa, Tessa Devine, Jack Biilman, Massive Sherlock and East Row Rabble.

Bold projections will light up the building’s exterior, but don’t be shy about stepping inside for delicious food and drinks, psychedelic lighting, and free tours of the library’s fabulous 1968: Changing Times exhibition.
